Newbie help please!!

SS Dual Fused Clapton build coming out at 0.19ohms. Vaping the Efusion SS316L preset but getting the Temp Protection message very quickly. Not getting much of a vape at all. Temp is set at 450F.

Any suggestions as getting frustrated!

Thanks

Mark

First, check all your connection & make sure everything is clean & tight...maybe try the Steam Engine 316L .csv...

Edit: Can you post a screen shot of Device Manager while firing?  What is your 'Mod Resistance' set at under the 'Mod' tab?

SS316L can be a bit tricky if your mod isn't set up properly...

Edit Edit: And maybe even a screen shot of your profile settings & 'Mod' tab... as much info as possible is very helpful

You have the power in your profile set at 70.20 watts...that is limiting the board to only 70.2 watts...raise that value up to 100 or 150 watts & try again...

Edit: The board will throttle back the wattage once it reaches temp...

Edit Edit: And if you want to see the temp on the device's display, check the 'Temperature-Dominate' box & be sure to upload to device!!

To add to giz's suggestions, I wouldn't be afraid to venture into the 500F above territory especially when it comes to SS. SS I find, needs higher temps to achieve a good vape. I usually vape SS at 520F and above but that's what I like.

I had a similar problem and solved it by changing the csv profile for 316L. I downloaded from Steam and that was not to my liking so I looked around on the forums and found one that worked for me. If it is a new build everything is tight and clean then I would try a different profile.

Thanks again.

Slightly off topic, but if I were to use Kanthal A1 coils would the DNA board automatically adjust to Wattage/power mode or do I need to set up a separate preset? Assume I can still limit the heat the coil gets too?

Thanks

Unless you have deleted or overwritten it, there should be a profile for Kanthal...maybe named 'Power Cntrl'...if not, you might want to set one up, but the DNA will sense a non temp wire & switch to power mode...and there is a cheat that someone figured out to add pre-heat for Kanthal...it can be tricky, you may have to fiddle with it, but it does work....https://evolvapor.forumchitchat.com/post/preheat-in-kanthal-it-works-8144287?&trail=15http://
