You can try a manual firmware install.  Under "tools" and "update firmware".

If that fails, then try it from a windows computer.  I once got mine in such a state that I had to use a windows system to restore it.  The key was having it plugged in at boot.

Are you certain you have the disk space to install the image?  It is a disk full error.

Just want to f/u on the El Capitan trouble; more exactly confirm it.

I downgrade the Air to Yosemite leaving the MBP on El Capitan. No doubt El Capitan is broken,

Started eScribe, reads the VS 200 (replaced?), works as eScribe USB should. So, we wait for a VirtualBox USB fix. Anyone seeing that update please PM.

THANKS

Even with the latest VB and tools?

I have El Capitan on one of my Mac's but have not had a chance to test escribe on it as it is not typically one I goof off with.  After putting it on that one I realized that it was not ready for prime time so to speak and have not upgraded my main systems.

I have not had any success with VB since the El Capitan update... There was an update that just came out but haven't had a chance to try it yet

Same issue as others: Running VB 5.08 with the 5.08 ex pack on El Capitan. The DNA is seen by the host and VB but receive "Received no response from the device." error from EScribe. If it makes a difference, I am running Vista.

Some mac users are getting inexpensive windows tablets as a solution.  Personally I am just avoiding El Capitain for a bit.  I put it on one test system and like it, but am in no hurry.

It would be less expensive to use Parallels. I am running Parallels 10 on El Capitan with no problems although I cannot get VB to connect to the device. This leads me to believe El Capitan may not be the offender.

In either case, I think having to buy additional software or hardware is a poor implementation. I have no experience with other devices but have heard that others have better, easier to navigate menus and all options can be configured directly on the device. This cannot be done on the DNA 200 without the use of Escribe.

Can anyone briefly layout the benefits the DNA 200 has over other such devices?

This is what I am thinking about doing, but I am afraid of getting an old version of windows that may not work wits escribe.
Do you know what the oldest version of Windows that escribe WILL work with? Such as, will Windows XP be compatible?

Parallels is $79.  A windows tablet is the same.  I am trying to get a free solution working, but I think VB will have an update soon.

Blueridgedog,
Are you saying that a windows tablet will work with escribe just as well as a laptop or desktop?

There is a world outside Windows, so please Evolv give us Mac users the chance to use your software. I have a Mac because I don't want to use Windows anymore.
