I would try to diagnose if there is a short and where the short is before any disassemble, it may tell you where issues lie in your other mods as well. If you think the board may be shorting to one of the posts I would use a DVM checking the ohms between the board and the case. If you see it's shorted, I'd wire the meter up so it's hands free and watch the meter while working on the mod, or listen if your meter can be set to "alarm for continuity" but it would be best to watch the ohms reading to see if they move at all while working on the mod and board. Once the meter is set up, one at a time, take one board mounting screw completely out while watching to see if the readings change. Once the screw is out, slighty pry the board away from the mounting post with a plastic pry tool, like those used to take cell phones and ipod's apart, these are handy little tools and can be bought from amazon for a few bucks. While there pick up some of the 3M double sided adhesive tape used to hold the screens in ipod touches, it works great for mounting screens!

Small update, I have ordered some Nylon mounting hardware to see if that resolves the issues as they seems to be mounting relating.

Just nuts, the screws shouldn't ever be an issue I don't think. I am thinking the nuts are touching something nearby.

That should address the potential over torque issue too.

Board is now completely insulated from the standoffs and enclosure, and there are no conductive materials around the mounting holes now. Did this on Mod 1 and Mod 2, so hopefully this will resolve it. Will be delivering the mods back later today.

Liquid electrical tape could work around it also.

I wouldn't trust it, especially since pressure is involved. I've had things short right through the stuff with a light amount of pressure, I wouldn't want to hedge my bets on something nut/bolted.

Both mods still going strong. Historically if they were going to pop the fuses they would have done so by now. Thinking this is now resolved. The issue was either a nearby component shorting or a atty short issue through the ground pads.

To solve this or address it, I have a sled design that can be 3d printed and epoxied into the inside of the Hammond box, so that it creates a non-conductive mount for the chip.  At only 1.5mm thick, it will not take up much room and also has screen alignment build in.  I will give it a test to see how it goes.  I have to get a box to get the button thickness correct.

I don't know if this is worth anything but I had some voltage leak when I lightly had my lips on my drip tip it's only a light leakage I had it connected to my PC but when I brought the mod inside from the shop I couldn't feel it I plugged it in to charge and still couldn't feel it it was odd. Buy the way it's in a ABS box

Not vaping, but I can't tell if there's leakage when I'm vaping I did have the device connected to escribe, Sunday evening I'll try to connect it to my PC and see if it leaks. Like I said, charging from the wall I don't feel it, vaping it not being charged there's no leakage it was odd
